Independence

Our recommendations are editorial. No brand pays for placement, a ranking, or a kinder verdict, and no brand sees a review before it publishes. We earn affiliate commissions when you buy through some of our links, but the reasoning behind a pick is identical whether a link earns us anything or not. When a cheaper bag is the better buy, it’s our pick even though it pays us less. How that’s funded is spelled out in full on our affiliate disclosure.

Sourcing standards

Every spec we publish — capacity, weight, external dimensions, materials, warranty — is read from the manufacturer’s or retailer’s own listing, on a dated visit shown on the page. Every airline size figure is cited to that airline’s official baggage page, with the date we checked it. Where a brand doesn’t publish a figure, we print “Not published” rather than estimating one. We do not run a test lab, and we don’t claim hands-on durability results we can’t back up — our full method is on the how we choose page.

No fabricated proof

There are no invented reviews, testimonials, star ratings, or “we tested it” photos anywhere on Passage & Pier. Product images come from the retailer and are labeled as such. Verdicts are ours, written from the published specs and honest buyer-fit reasoning. If we can’t source a claim honestly, it doesn’t appear.

Prices

Prices are never typed into our content. They’re pulled from a live retailer feed, stamped with the date they were pulled, and expire on their own within 48 hours if the daily check stops running — at which point the buttons fall back to “Check price on Amazon.” The failure mode is a missing price, never a wrong one.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and airline rules and specs change. If you spot an error, tell us: we check it against the source, and if you’re right we fix it and note that we did. Material corrections to a live page are made in the open, and we bump the “last updated” date whenever we revise a page’s substance.

Update cadence

We re-verify our size guide’s airline figures on a regular cadence because the rules change, and we review roundups and reviews for discontinued models and spec changes a few times a year. The “last updated” date on each page reflects its most recent substantive check.
