The short version

That commission is how the site pays for itself. It does not change our recommendations, our rankings, or what we tell you to skip.
Amazon Associates
Passage & Pier is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Most of the buy buttons on this site point to Amazon, tagged with our Associates ID (t5travel-20).
Some links may go to other retailers or brands. Where a link earns us a commission we treat it exactly the same as an Amazon link; where a brand’s program isn’t one we’ve joined, the link is a plain, non-earning link so you can still reach the product.
How our links are labeled
Buy buttons carry an #ad label and route through a redirect so we can keep the destination current. Outbound commercial links use rel=“sponsored”, the standard tag search engines expect on monetized links. You never have to guess whether a link might earn us something — assume any “View on Amazon” or “Check price” button does.
What commission does NOT do
It does not decide our picks. When a bag on a program that would pay us more is beaten by a cheaper one that pays us less, the cheaper one is still our recommendation. The reasoning behind every pick — the specs, the carry-on fit math, who it suits — is identical whether the link earns us anything or not. Our editorial policy and methodology explain how we keep that line firm.
Prices
Prices shown on the site come from a live retailer feed and are stamped with the date they were pulled. They change constantly, so treat any price as a snapshot and confirm the current one on the retailer’s page before you buy. If our data is stale, the price simply disappears and the button reads “Check price” — we never show a number we can’t stand behind.
